A New COOL Search Engine has hit the internet! This might be really good folks. It is located at http://www.cuil.com and is pronounced “COOL”. It was invented by former Google engineers and a guy from an old and (used to be) GOOD search engine called Alta Vista which was purchased by Overture who was then bought by Yahoo… Anyways, CUIL.com looks to be very promising, will be keeping a lookout on it and will report back on it when I see something amazing about it. Right now, I do like its search results pages showing 11 results at a time in a 2 or 3 column format. And I see that some site logos are being pulled onto each section as well. Not sure how they are doing that but I like it. The interface is very fast… reminds of me of all of the cool web apps from 37signals.com Anyways, check it out folks and let me hear your feedback. Will it finally be the DAVID to defeat the Goliath GOOGLE?! Time will tell.

YouTube has taken a hit… it’s taking water… abandon ship…
WOW. This is a major story… should we really trust all of our data with Google / YouTube ?!? Am a little stunned by this verdict… well, in reality if you aren’t doing anything stupid with Google, then you are fine… like me… maybe this is a non-story… anyways… makes you think one way or another.
Google Talk for the iPhone
Google Talk will officially work on the iPhone… only problem is that it only works for the browser. Close the browser and it puts you off line… not very effective if you ask me. I’d like there to be a button in the menu to indicate to you with a little number letting us know we have a new message. And also to have a configuration area to take us online or offline.
