Ok this is pretty major folks. Be sure to avoid this plugin at all costs! Generally anything that promises automatic SEO anything is fraudulent. I consult with clients and always have to talk them OUT of adding this next magic widget that will add you to first page automatically or guarantees overnight top rankings… if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS.

And I am using it! So far, I like it a lot. It is faster and I am starting to play with a lot of the updates. Will report more on this later… but so far I give 2 thumbs Ups for Word Press 2.9 Carmen!

WordPress 2.9 is coming… Does anybody else think WordPress is marching along just a LITTLE too fast? I keep up with the blogging software constantly, and I feel it is. At least updates are like 1000 times easier since 2.6 or so. I’ll probably install 2.9 on a dev wordpress site to test and play around… to the future of WordPress!

Just made a major change to the home site. Man I love accordions! Feel free to click away on the home page! BTW, the home page is still a part of WordPress. It doesn’t look like it but I added in several programming hooks in the code to take the sidebars out when it was on the home page. Pretty nice I think. and I still have my cool little robot that has now been stolen several hundred billion times over… oh well…

And wow what a big change! This should really be known as 3.0! I recommend upgrading as soon as possible! The admin is the bomb with tons of new features it is almost too numerous to count. Great work guys! This is really an evolutionary leap forward for WordPress!

Site Redesign and New SEARCH TOOL

Howdy folks! Hope everyone is into the winter holiday season in full swing by now! I finally got around to redesigning my main site (zen cart) and the blog site (wordpress) to make them look a bit more uniform. It was just CSS changes though and some photoshop stuff. I mainly just made the content div tags transparent then added the main background a lightened robot with the magnifying glass. Way easier than I anticipated. And lastly, I added in a cross web app search tool in zen cart to search through the wordpress blog as well. This was pretty easy to set up as well. It is based on http://www.sphider.eu and is really cool. It requires a bit of programming to get it to run perfectly, but after that, it just rocks! I really like it as it takes all of the search results and puts it right into a defined page of zen cart. -Tom
