I’ve had Google Voice since the very beginning. I, for one, LOVE getting my voicemails in my eMail… being able to have my phone AUTOMATICALLY go to voice mail after a certain time… what is NOT to love about Google Voice?!?!

Here is what Google really said to the FCC regarding the Google Voice App getting pulled from Apple’s iPhone App Store.

When we submitted our letter on August 21, we asked the FCC to redact certain portions that involved sensitive commercial conversations between two companies — namely, a description of e-mails, telephone conversations, and in-person meetings between executives at Google and Apple.

Shortly afterward, several individuals and organizations submitted Freedom of Information Act requests with the FCC seeking access to this information. While we could have asked the FCC to oppose those requests, in light of Apple’s decision to make its own letter fully public and in the interest of transparency, we decided to drop our request for confidentiality. Today the FCC posted the full content of our letter to their website (PDF).

THIS is exactly why Google Voice is so powerful! There ARE some other reasons, but this is a big deal methinks!

Once you link your cell phone, home phone, and perhaps your work phone, you’ll be able to control which devices ring based on who is calling your Google number. You can assign certain callers to ring your cell or your work phone (or both), and can forward some calls straight to voicemail or directly to the spam folder.

Looks like Google has already went and fixed this for everyone using the super cool Google Voice. I have only had one issue in the last 2 months where I tried to set up an easy 3 way teleconference and someone that works for me couldn’t get connected in. I think that has already been cleared up as well… what do people expect when things are still in BETA?!?

Ok, I can see all kinds of amazing application / workflow type of good uses for the new Google Voice for any business. Ok, this is soon to launch and has become Google VOICE http://google.com/voice You can’t sign up right now but you can sign up to get notification as to when it starts HERE ( https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/ ) This is a HUGE GAME CHANGER for the telecommunications industry. The two coolest things I see are the voicemail transcription service

and the call routing based on groups

I’ll probably have more information on all of this within the next month but this is some really major news!
